I’ve got a TON of stuff going on right now which is both exciting and a bit stressful.  Thursday night, January 31st, The Cowboy Way will be doing our first Create a Song Night at the Tractor Brewery/Four Hills location in Albuquerque.  We’ll do a two hour songwriting workshop where the participants will get some excellent tips from award-winning songwriters AND the first beer is on us.  We think it’s a cool idea that will prove to be both fun and informative but you never know until you’ve done the first one.  On Friday, I’ll get up WAY before dawn’s early light and drive to Elko, Nevada where I’ll join my friend, RW Hampton, as well as a number of other artists who will perform a concert paying tribute to the great Ian Tyson.  Elko, as many of you know, is the home of the oldest cowboy poetry gathering in the United States and is known as the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering.  This will be my first time there and I’m super excited about this (except for the drive, of course).  When I get back, I’ll be doing my third Living Room Sessions Concert next Wednesday, February 6th at the home of Jim and Bobbi Jean Bell.  The first set, I’ll be doing a few requests as well as some of my earlier songs that many people who follow me now have never heard.  My guest artist will be my host, the inimitable Bobbi Jean Bell who will do what she does best…interview me (she’s hosts or co-hosts three different radio programs for those of you who don’t know).  She’ll be asking me about my books, my music career and who knows what else.  We’ll talk and I’ll sing some songs.  This will be fun and different.  If you’re in the Albuquerque area and would like to come, email me at the email address below.  We’re almost at capacity with reservations now but we’ll try to squeeze a few more people in and start a waiting list.  The Cowboy Way has signed a deal with Scottish publicist Rob Ellen and his Medicine Show Music and our song, It’s a Cowboy I Will Be, is included in his tenth anniversary compilation CD, Looking For Europe Collection 2019.  A link for that is listed below.  Finally, my fifth novel, The Lights of Cimarrón is scheduled to be released by Five Star Publishing on April 17th.  I’m very excited about this and I think you’re going to like the new book.  That’s probably way more than you needed to read about this morning but I just felt like I needed to “get it off my chest.”  I feel better now. 🙂
