Three weeks from today, on Thursday, October 11th, I will present the first of what I’m calling the Living Room Sessions concerts at the home of my friend Joy Burns. They will be much like a house concert with some key differences.
*Unlike a house concert, there won’t be a set contribution to attend. Here in New Mexico, we have a large number of musical events and I know that can get a bit overwhelming financially. If you’re running a little low on cash, don’t let that stop you from attending. I trust you to make it up when you can. If you’re feeling flush, go ahead and put as much money as you want into the kitty…I certainly won’t complain.
*I will do two sets- “My Set” and “Your Set.” That means that I get to pick the music for the first set and you get to pick the second set. For my set, I will be trying to come up with something new and perhaps a little bit different from what you’ve heard from me before. That doesn’t mean I won’t do your old favorites though. I’m encouraging folks to email or FB message me with requests ahead of time in order for me to have the time to learn (or re-learn) them if necessary. I’m happy to do cover tunes as long as they’re good songs. No Achy Breaky Heart or anything of that ilk!!
*This will be less formal and more intimate than a house concert. If you have questions or comments about my songs, things that you’d like to know more about, ideas for future concerts, etc., you can bring those things up. We’ll try to save enough time for me to actually play a bunch of music though. I’m anticipating bringing in other performers in the future to share the event with me and you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about them as well.
