I’m still trying to process the accolades from Saturday night at the IWMA Awards Ceremony. The Cowboy Way received Traditional Western Album of the Year and Group of the Year awards and I was awarded the Song of the Year for my song, “It’s a Cowboy I Will Be.” I barely had time to savor the experience because we were hard at it most of the day Sunday working on our documentary. Several people have commented that they hope I don’t get the big head from this. I thought maybe I would try that out (the “big head”) to see if I liked it but as it turns out, I still had to do my own laundry today; on Thursday, I’m going to have to take out the trash and there’s a strong likelihood that I’ll have to clean the toilets this coming weekend. Dang, I thought these awards came with “people” who took over those sorts of things. Turns out that’s not the case. Oh well. It’s Tuesday and I’m back to work on things. Congratulations to all the nominees and most especially to the folks who took home awards. Love and Respect to Kristyn (Krystin) Harris for Female Performer of the Year and Entertainer of the Year. You ROCK!
