I know this will come as a shock to some of you, even those who know me well, but I’m not always the most patient person on the face of the earth (I know several people who probably just snorted their coffee out on the table). I had to go to the grocery store earlier today to pick up a few items to get ready for the holidays…me and just about everyone else in town! And as is typical in grocery stores, a lot of people are so focused on looking for what they need that they fail to be considerate of others who might need to get by them in the aisle. I was feeling pretty impatient, frustrated and not especially charitable until I thought about something that snapped me out of it. The wonderful songwriter, Mary Gauthier, has a beautiful song, “Mercy Now,” that helps you get some perspective and chill out. Once again, I’m reminded of the power of music to heal and comfort.
